About Guadalupe Ramirez Fashions

Guadalupe, a first generation Mexican-American, was born to Mr. Antonio and Mrs. Ofelia Ramirez in El Paso, Texas. After he graduated from Bowie High School, Guadalupe began his formal education in Fashion Design at the El Paso Community College. In 2002, he moved to Albuquerque and discovered that he could continue his studies in the Fashion Design Program at the Santa Fe Community College, and be influenced by the citys artistic culture. In 2005, Guadalupe applied for the fashion show, Project Runway. He did not make the final cut for the show, but was proud he made it to the final interview and evaluation with Tim Gunn. He returned determined to make it in the fashion world based on his performance in the auditions.

Guadalupe had been recognized by Phaedra Haywood, the Fashion reporter for The Santa Fe New Mexican, praising him in several of her articles during 2004 to 2005. In, La Fashionaria: A Little Leg, A Little Flounce: SFCC Puts on a Fashion Show in May of 2004, she recognized him for his strong collection. In August, Haywood would once again recognize Guadalupe at the Azulito Fashion Show stating he had produced to of the shows best dresses. Finally, she chronicled Guadalupes next step in the May 2005 article, SFCC Shows off Fashionable Ambition, and SFCC grad reaches for the Big Apple , where she showcased his designs and aspirations to live in New York and go to school at the (FIT) Fashion Institute of Technology.

Guadalupe lived in New York for about a year studying at FIT. He stated, he was very happy to have attended FIT, and learned a great deal. He brought that knowledge back to New Mexico in the fall of 2006. He presented a line of swimwear at the Santa Fe Designers Show in November of 2006. In 2007, Guadalupe was asked by the publisher of, Bliss Magazine to show his work in the magazine. Three of his dresses were showcased. He also was the fashion coordinator for a Ruben Romero Video in Santa Fe, NM.

2008 proved to be a busy year for Guadalupe with a Fashion Show at El Farol, and an article in the, Albuquerque Magazine The Bridal Guide. He answered a challenge for designers to redesign horrible brides maids dresses into something fashionable, or useful. He converted his in to a simply, but fashionable baby doll dress. He was also showcased in an article by a New York Model and Fashion Magazine called, Nifty Magazine.

Taking a small break in 2009, he was asked to be a guest Fashion Designer at the, Vizion Fashion Show, at the Marriott Hotel. This was quickly followed by the, A Walk for Beautiful Fashion Show at The University of New Mexico sponsoring women in Africa dealing with serious gynecological issues.

The Gynecological Cancer Awareness Project (GCAP) first annual Survivorship Event to celebrate women with gynecological cancer was held at the Hard Rock in Albuquerque New Mexico in September of 2010. Guadalupe was asked to present a collection during the dinner portion of the event. He presented a fashion show consisting of a collection of twenty garments.

Guadalupe's goal for 2011 is to have a Design/Bridal Studio to produce his one of a kind fashion designs, and bridal garments. His current and historical works can be seen on Events and Press pages at When new designs are available, they will be showcased on his website.
